far有两种比较级，farther，further。一般farther表示距离，further表示进一步。例如： I have nothing further to say. 我没什么要说了。
the + 最高级 + 比较范围
形容词最高级前通常必须用定冠词the，副词最高级前可不用。例如：
The Sahara is the biggest desert in the world. 撒哈拉沙漠是世界上最大的沙漠。
形容词most前面没有the，不表示最高级的含义，只表示“非常”。例如：
It is a most important problem. =It is a very important problem.

1.形状相同的动词之间辨义。如：lie, lay; hanged, hung; rise, raise; sit, seat等。
意义相近的动词之间辨义。如：borrow, lend; speak, say, talk; hope, wish等。
动词与其它词形相近、意义相似的词的辨义。如：advise, advice; cost, worth; pass, past 等。
意义不同，但容易混淆的动词的辨义。如：explain, say; discover, invent, uncover; find, find out等。
某些常用动词的习惯用法的辨义。如：ask, give, call, make, find, get, keep, want, see, hear等。
某些常用动词短语的辨义。如：give in, give up, turn on, turn off, turn down, turn up等。
